“Eloquent Energy: Speaking with the Whole Body”
By Ubong Essien, CSP — Dean, School of Eloquence

The body speaks. Even before words arrive, the posture, gestures, and facial expressions of a speaker begin the conversation.
That’s what Monica discovered when we moved beyond just what she was saying to how she was showing up.
“Eloquence,” I told her, “is a full-body experience.”
✅ Her gestures became fluid.
✅ Her voice followed suit.
✅ Her confidence, once locked in her shoulders, began to flow out in waves.
We trained her to uncross her arms, open her posture, and let her hands move naturally.
She was holding too much tension, compacting her anxiety inwards.
So we released it—through movement.
Every improvement in voice projection was tied to movement.
Every clearer thought found support in her stance.
The lesson?
You cannot be eloquent in speech if you are frozen in posture.
Monica’s eloquence began to emerge when her words and her body aligned.
When she stopped shrinking and started owning space.
This is the hidden dimension of great speaking:
Kinetic eloquence—where your body reinforces your message instead of resisting it.
Monica learned it. So can you.
